Annie and Ben’s engagement session took place outdoors on a cool, crisp afternoon in March. Despite the chill, the three of us had a ton of fun exploring the park the couple has spent countless afternoons in, watching and participating in softball games. Even without leaves on the trees, nature played a big role in this photoshoot. The different shades of blue that Annie and Ben wore complemented the grays and browns that only come during a cold, Minnesota winter. I loved getting to know the couple better as we pretended we weren’t all freezing.

Annie and Ben have big hearts that show through their big smiles. The energy—the love, happiness, and excitement—between these two was contagious. The photos taken on the old bridge were especially symbolic, inspired by the bridge that will officially connect these two families on October 14, 2017, when the couple says ‘I do.’

Their wedding will take place in a cozy, country church, and I can only imagine how their smiles will grow as they officially tie the knot. As a photographer, being able to capture love across a multitude of backdrops with people as kindhearted as these two never gets old. I am so excited to see what the future brings for Annie and Ben! Congratulations on your engagement.
