Everyone loves a good sunset. Capturing the warmth of a setting sun is something that never gets old for me. As I worked with Cara and Craig, I was captivated by the light that fell on their faces and radiated behind their profiles. Playing with light in my photography is always a great experience; it’s a welcome invitation to take creative liberty with my work and develop pictures that are truly worth a thousand words.

This engagement session took place at the farm where Cara and Craig will be married this fall. The wide open fields and lush, green grass made a perfect backdrop for this session. I loved the way Cara’s checkered dress popped in every setting; the deep blue and bright white looked beautiful against the cloudless sky, especially when situated next to the love of her life, Craig. The way these two look at each other could take your breath away.

With every photo shoot, I look for unique angles and captivating settings to photograph. I am continuously in awe of the beauty of the great outdoors and I am so grateful to work with couples who appreciate the outdoor setting, too. Photographing farm scenes is so much fun! As I sifted through the images in this gallery, I was struck by the vibrancy of the sunshine and the forest trees. Nothing beats shooting in warm, natural light. (And it looks gorgeous in grayscale, too). Cara and Craig are a beautiful couple who no doubt have a bright future ahead of them; I wish them all the best in their future together.
