What a star-bangled weekend it was! Literally!

When I wake to head out for a wedding, I always enjoy the early part of the day when both are primping for their big day. Makeup, hair and all that goes into putting on the final touches before their first look. The female side becomes emotional as all are watching the bride in her wedding dress making the final adjustments. The shoes and jewelry, something old, new, borrowed and blue are taken care of.

So we head to Sibley Park. One of my favorite parks in Mankato. And there it is. The future Mr and Mrs turn to where their eyes meet. It’s finally real. Prettier than the fireworks of the weekend, Whitney was drop-dead stunning in her gown. Her hair was perfectly done to show her gorgeous smile. And then there’s Zack in his dark gray three-piece suit who was ready for the occasion. His smile says it all! Let’s get this show on the road!

Saint Joseph’s the Worker Church has a special place in my heart… so when the prayers and blessings were said, it brought memories of my own baptism and wedding being blessed at this church all those years ago.

The music and happiness of their ceremony sent the wedding party and crowd merrily on their way to have fun at the Country Inn and Suites for a well thought out reception. The beautiful colors of the day where as beautiful as I’ve ever seen. The groomsmen ties, the bridesmaids dresses and the decor at the reception were very well done.

What usually takes a couple up to a year to plan an event like theirs, I think above all, it’s special to say they had gotten married over the weekend of which our country was celebrating the 240th year of independence.  God Bless you both. God bless America!
